Workshop: Refining and sharing 3D Models of objects (intermediate level)

March 20, 2024, 2:00-3:00 PM

Online

The AHRC-funded Hot Source! project is organising an online workshop as part of its training activities on the 20th of March 2024, from 2:00 – 3:00 pm.

This workshop will focus on refining 3D models, created with the method of photogrammetry, and prepare them for online sharing or additive manufacturing (3D printing). The participants will have the opportunity to use simple operations on 3D modelling software, and to discuss the permissions, copyrights and ethics of sharing and manufacturing 3D models.

The workshop is particularly suited to researchers and professionals who are working with 3-dimensional physical objects and interested in sharing online or manufacturing digital 3D models.

In addition to this workshop, participants can register for a 1:1 ‘Practical Surgery’ session on the 27th of March.

It is an intermediate level workshop and prior knowledge of photogrammetry or other 3D capturing method like 3D laser scanning is required. If you do not possess this, the 3D capturing of objects with photogrammetry workshop is highly recommended.
